A beautiful pair of antique gold earrings worked in fine cannetille and filigree technique, each with a wirework rosette surmount centred by a chased two-tone flowerhead, suspending a woven basket-form drop and terminating in a bold bombé cluster of repoussé foliage, silvered flowers and polished gold berries. Delicate trembling wire tassels add movement throughout.
A rare survival of early 19th-century goldwork -light to wear despite the scale, with wonderful texture and dimension.
